The text Jurgita Gerlikaitė’s meditation and dissolution of subjectivity – a world of digital Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis for the book was written by Professor of History of Thought at Chubu University Japan - Rio Kojima.
Professor R. Kojima was born in Nara Japan’s ancient capital in 1956. Studied at Saint Andrews School and graduated from Ritsumeikan University with a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese History in 1979. Studied International Relations at the University of Tokyo 1981–1983. Visiting Scholar at the University of Chicago 1986–1987. Worked at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Institute of Sociological Research, Hungarian-Japanese intergovernmental exchange program 1987–2001. Studied at Kossuth Lajos University of Debrecen and graduated summa cum laude with the Doctor of Philosophy in Social Sciences 1988–2001. Visiting Associate, Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies, Harvard University 1991–1992. Associate Professor at Vytautas Magnus University, Lithuania 1993–1994. Editor, Department of dictionaries and textbooks, Kadokawa publishing Co. Ltd., Tokyo 1997–1999. Associate Professor of History of Thought, College of International Studies, Chubu University 1999–2004. Lecturer of History, College of Letters, Ritsumeikan University 2004–2006. Professor of History of Thought, College of International Studies, Chubu University since 2004.

 

 
Designer of the book Edita Namajūnienė was born near Kaunas, Lithuania in 1978. Graduated from Vilnius Academy of Arts, Lithuania with Bachelor of Arts in Visual Graphic Arts in 2002.
Works as a book illustrator and designer, E. Namajūnienė has designed and illustrated several books such as: poetry by Salomėja Nėris “Kur ta ugnelė”. „Gimtasis žodis“, Vilnius, 2004; “Milžinai nenorėjo karaliais būti” by Mykolas Sluckis. „Gimtasis žodis“, Vilnius, 2004; “Tytuvėnai: istorija, kultūra, meno paminklai”. „Vilniaus dailės akademijos leidykla“, Vilnius, 2006; „Tarpukario bajorai fotografijose“. „Vilniaus dailės akademijos leidykla“, Vilnius, 2008.

 


The book contains a selection of 21 full colour reproductions of Jurgita Gerlikaite’s artwork in different media - silkscreen, mixed media, woodcut, photopolymer film intaglio, collage, painting and digital graphics.

 




At the end of the book pages 54–59 there is a Catalogue of complete list of works created 1995–2008.
